Custom hollow parts are where standard machinery gets awkward. A tool box body, a small drum, a shaped automotive fluid tank and a 10 litre jerry can may all fall inside the same volume envelope yet demand completely different daylight and stroke. This MP80D configuration exposes an adjustable 220-620 mm platen opening with 540 mm of plate stroke and a 520 x 460 mm mould envelope, so a single machine handles a product mix that would otherwise need two.
The adjustable stroke is not only about fitting moulds. It is about not wasting time on travel. A shallow bottle mould running at 620 mm opening spends part of every cycle moving air, while a deep container mould run at 220 mm cannot open far enough to eject. Setting the opening to the minimum the part requires shortens the dry cycle and reduces the clamp's energy consumption per shot without changing anything in the hydraulic circuit.

Custom work starts with the part, not the machine. Send a 3D model or a drawing with the maximum dimensions, target wall thickness, resin and annual volume, and we check it against the 520 x 460 mm mould envelope, the 10 litre volume limit and the 90 kg/h plasticizing rate. If the part sits outside the envelope, we say so before a mould is cut rather than after.
For low-volume custom parts, single-head operation at reduced screw speed is often the most economical approach: the machine is not working hard, tooling cost stays low, and the same platform can be returned to standard bottle production when the custom order finishes. That flexibility is the practical reason plants keep one general-purpose blow moulder alongside their dedicated high-speed lines.
Frequently Asked QuestionsHow do I know if my custom part fits this machine?
Three limits decide it: the part must fit inside a 520 x 460 mm mould, hold no more than 10 litres, and be producible within the 90 kg/h plasticizing rate at your required cycle time. Provide a drawing and we will confirm fit and recommend head configuration.
Can the stroke be adjusted without tools?
Platen opening is set through the machine's adjustment mechanism as part of mould installation. It is a deliberate setup step rather than something changed mid-shift, and the position is recorded in the mould recipe so repeat orders return to the same setting.
Is a single head configuration enough for custom production?
For most custom and low-volume work, yes. A single head gives the simplest parison control and the widest tolerance for irregular shapes. Multi-head configurations are added when a custom part moves into serial production and output becomes the constraint.
